Random Friday List (and some 5QF!)

1.  We went camping last weekend.

2.  I counted 27 bug bites on my left foot alone (from the ankle down).

3.  It was like bug OCB (Old Country Buffet) on my feet.

4.  And I bathed in bug spray.

5.  A. started school this week.

6.  A post about that is forth coming.

7.  D. and I are talking about the addition a lot lately.

8.  Words like "faucets" and "mirrors" and "final inspection" are popping up.

9.  I saw the first leaves of color yesterday.

10.  Bring on the fall!!!

Ok...I haven't participated in this one for a long time (too long, M!)  So, I'm tacking it on to the RFL* post.  Something is wonky about my Internet right now, so I can't pick up her cute little button.  BUT, you can check out the original of the post by clicking here.

1.  What do you do when you have time to yourself?

Oh, I laugh at this one.  Time to yourself, you say?  Really, as a mom, is "our time" ever our own?  If I do get down time from the boys, I'm usually cleaning up after the boys, preparing a boy's lunch box, making cordless roman shades for the boys' room...well, you get the hint.

I do enjoy an occasional GNO*, though.  As budget and time allow.

2.  When you look out your kitchen window, what do you see?

This is my current view:
My awesome, resourceful husband was working on a job, and the homeowner asked him how much he wanted to lay some vinyl in a laundry room.  Knowing that their kids were older (5th grade and up), he asked them how much they wanted for their play set.  They said that if he hauled it away, they would do an even trade.  We got both sets for $120 worth of labor.

And here's my future view from my new kitchen window:

Sorry, had to show you guys!  We're getting closer and closer to moving in, and I can't wait!!!

3.  Who/What would you want to be reincarnated as?

While I don't necessarily believe in reincarnation, I'll play along for fun.   And now that I think about it, I'm not sure what to write for this one.  I'm really good where I'm at now.  Other than some minor health issues, God has given me a pretty great life.    I could say an animal, but every time I think of one, I come up with a million reasons (ok, about 5) why that wouldn't be a good pick.  So, here's my thoughts:  A Cheetah- because I'd love to see what it feels like to run that fast.  A peacock: because their plume is just so pretty.  And then I'll just go right back to being plain old me.

4.  What is your biggest pet peeve about other people's kids?

Yeah, this was my question on the 5QF thread.  There's a lot of things that I don't necessarily appreciate about other people's kids...but mine aren't perfect either, so there's that.

My biggest pet peeve is lack of consideration.  This includes being rude, disrespecting elders (and peers), having an entitlement issue, pushing, shoving, and being over competitive.

Actually, that's my biggest pet peeve for all people in general.  The lack of common courteousy in today's society is just....well, it's enough to piss me off.  :)

5.  Regular or diet soda?

I'm proud to say NEITHER!  I used to drink diet POP, but then all my stomach issues put a kabosh on it.  While I can now have one or two a month, I choose not to.  But, if I did, it would be regular.  I'm proud to say that I do not allow any chemical ridden aspartame to cross these lips!  That stuff is horrible poison (thanks to the education from my nutrition class), and is not welcome in this house.

Here in Texas I haven't seen any leaves changing yet, but we do have a rainy morning, yay! The same thing happens to me no matter how much bug spray I put on.
